Q. What is Reiki?

A. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing for personal and spiritual growth.

The  word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's  Wisdom or the Higher Power" or Universal.   And Ki which is "life force  energy". So Reiki means"spiritually guided life force energy" or  "universal life force energy". Reiki energy comes from Source or Higher  Power through the practitioner to the recipient/client. A Reiki  practitioner does not give their energy to clients but actually acts as a  conduit where the energy is flowing through them.

Reiki is based  on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is  what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we  are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are  more capable of being happy and healthy. The basic concept is that we  are energy based, and when our energy fields and energy centers are  balanced, this promotes wellness on a physical, mental, and spiritual  level.

Q. What does Reiki feel like?

A.
Reiki is administered by the practitioner's hands just above the body or lightly on the body in prescribed hand positions.

A  treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through  and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions,  mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation  and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of  spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has  been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and  always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with  all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and  promote recovery.

Q. Is Reiki a Religion or Cult?

A. Although  Reiki energy is spiritual in nature and may connect one closer to God,  Holy Spirit, Source, etc.  Reiki is not a religion or a cult.  Many  people from all walks of life and spiritual belief systems practice and  use Reiki professionally and for personal use.   And you don't  necessarily have to believe in God for Reiki to work.  Reiki works  regardless of ones' religious beliefs.  Practitioners are not asked or  required to change any of their religious or spiritual beliefs to  practice or learn Reiki. Reiki Practitioners are free and at liberty to  continue believing anything they so choose to believe and are very much  encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.

I welcome all people from all walks of life to my practice.

For my friends, family and clients whom are Christian, Catholic and spiritually guided through Jesus Christ, here are some websites for you to look at it.

Q. Are there any side effects from receiving a Reiki treatment?

A.   Most of the time when a person receives a Reiki session or treatment  they will feel relaxed, uplifted, and a sense of relief.   However,  sometimes a person who has received Reiki will experience something  called a "healing crisis". As a person’s vibration goes up and changes  to a more positive state, toxins that have been stored in various places  in the body will be released into the blood stream.  The toxins are  then filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system and  out of our bodies.  When this occurs, sometimes a person can experience a  headache  or a stomach ache or even feel weak. If this happens, it is a  good idea to drink more water and stay hydrated as this will flush out  the toxins.  It is also suggested that you eat lighter meals to aid in  the cleansing effect and get more rest when needed.  These are all good  signs and are normal to experience as the body is going through a  healing process.

Q. Where does the Reiki energy come from?

A.  Reiki Energy is usually a very light and gentle energy. It's very  subtle.  It's is very different compared to others types of energy that  we use: such as electricity, and physical and chemical energies.  Reiki  does not come from the practitioner but from a higher power. Reiki is  spiritually guided with it's own wisdom for healing. This higher power  exists and is from another higher dimension other then our own here on  Earth.  If you are clairvoyant you will see that the energy appears to  be coming from some place higher from the body, above the head, and into  the crown chakra, the chakra that governs spirituality.  The crown  chakra is at the top of the head where the energy appears to be entering  the body and than through the body to the arms and out through the  hands and to the client.  It would appear from this perspective that  this is where the energy is coming from. However, Reiki is within all of  us, and that is it's true source.  Reiki comes from a higher part of  ourselves, and does not use our own personal energy to heal others. We  are infinitely connected to Reiki's healing energy, and it can be used  whenever we need it.

Q. What illnesses and or conditions can be treated with a Reiki session?

A.  Reiki has had a positive effect on all forms, types, symptoms of  illnesses and negative conditions. Reiki has worked with: head aches,  stomach aches, colds, flu, bee stings, tension and anxiety as well as  serious illnesses like heart disease, cancer, leukemia, etc.  It has  reduced or eliminated the side effects of regular medical treatments  such a chemotherapy, depression, post operative pain.  It has helped aid  in improving the healing rate and reduced time needed to stay in the  hospital. Most people that experience Reiki feel stress reduction and  some improvement is their physical and psychological well being.   Miracles can't be guaranteed, but there are some individuals that have experienced complete healings through reiki and were confirmed by  medical testing before and after reiki treatment was performed.

Q. Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor or psychologist in order to receive a Reiki treatment?

A.  No, Reiki is complementary and can be used with any and all medical and  psychological treatments. Reiki also works in harmony with all other  forms of energy healing: prescription and non-prescription drugs,  surgery, psychological care, or any other method or alternative care  that will improve your results.  If you have a medical or psychological  condition it is recommended that you continue to see your licensed  health care provider, while receiving your reiki treatments.

Disclaimer: Reiki along with other alternative healing methods such as hypnosis and EFT, etc. can help promote/enhance healing physically, mentally and spiritually for many people, but it doesn't mean it should replace medical care. (Although it is great complimentary care!)  Please see a Medical Doctor or professional if needed.  Thank you for taking charge of your health!
